Thanks again for a fantastic suite of training materials. I booked the call so that I could share it with my team as my own diary for January is full, but having watched your videos I've learned the lessons on that one and am instead going to put the material from the call into action myself and then encourage my team to invest in themselves and their businesses.
I'm so sorry for the delay in sending this to you. We had a serious family emergency (teenage daughter in ER w/ alcohol poisoning) that made me put everything else on hold for a few days. But I'm back! And once I came up for air, I reviewed my notes from your teleseminar and went to work. WOW!!! What a great teleseminar! I heard you speak at our National Pampered Chef Conference and purchased the package of cds and your carpe phonum book and it had already changed my business. I love how you can speak directly to me as if no one else was in the room. Anyone can do direct sales if they have the right technique and actually follow through and you certainly encouraged me to pick up the phone. When you talked about the diamond in the sandbox it was if you had reached through the phone and shaken me awake. I doesn't matter what you have or have not done it really is about just picking up the phone and moving forward and that is what I have and will continue to do. You really have gotten it figured out and I hope I can encourage my team to follow your teachings as I can see it doubling my business. I am one of those overly enthusiastic types, which I have seen can scare people. So I know that I need to reign it in, but it has been so hard as I love our products and know that others would to. So to be given just a few short sentences that I can use when on the phone to get my point across as to why I'm calling, has been fantastic. Also to realize that it is okay for someone to say no. It makes our relationship much smoother and more at ease for the next time that we talk.
Tammy's language is so right on - I love how she tells it like it is and that so much of the teleseminar was relatable to EVERYONE, regardless of their tenure in direct sales or type of product they represent. I'm a newly promoted Advanced Director and had record-breaking sales this season but still need to be motivated to pick up the phone and make those calls to do even more! I hope that in the future I'll make real friends or long-lasting relationships rather than just" customers.I already made some phone calls and used your advice with a hostess who didn't want to talk with me because none of her guests were coming.But the daughter gave the phone to her mom and then, using your guidance to really listen to where she was coming from, I not only was able to reschedule the party but also could hear the happiness in her voice that I seemed to understand her struggles.It was a totally different conversation than my usual approach, which was more my German "bossy-ness" - you gotta do this and you gotta do that, etc.Never worked well if at all. You also helped in silencing my inner critic a bit more and that Happiness is being who I really am! My mantra for my calls today and tomorrow will be: Lighten up! Have fun with these PEOPLE! It was really great and just what I needed.I bought your book in Chicago in July at the Pampered Chef national conference and I attended your seminar there too.I work full time for the state of Washington in a stressful policy job. On Nov. 16th I began my 23rd year with the same agency. I joined the Pampered Chef team as a consultant in Nov 2007 after having been a host for nine consecutive Octobers in a row, for the same consultant, now my Director. (Every year she kept asking me to join her team!)Pampered Chef is my oasis from my work chaos, and your tele-seminar today was a huge lifeboat for me. I watched all three of your pre call trainings - loved them! And I copied the cheat sheet into a word file, reformatted it, and took notes on it! I don't like being 'sold' to and I had difficulty embracing the techniques that in my opinion are not respectful to customers. A long-term relationship is more important to me than the quick sale. What a AH-HA moment! I have been in the direct sales business for 12 years and I have never gotten such an eye opener with the way to speak and truly ask from the heart to our customers.
