Reading the book Carpe Phonum, I felt like you must have been in my head!! All those little things that negative voice says : you nailed it to a "T".  So I thought I'd start by being more aware of the "voice" and how I responded.  3 days after our workshop, I became engaged in conversation with a co-worker about my business.  As I walked away, I realized the voice in my head was telling me not to ask her if she wanted to be a host because I figured she was thinking "Oh, I hope she doesn't ask me to host!".  I decided to check out my "mind reading" the next day.  I directly told her what I had thought and what I'd thought she'd think.She said, "No, I really wasn't worried that you would ask me, I actually was thinking it might be fun to have a party!"This time I went on to ask her to be a host and got the date on the calendar right then for 2 weeks away!I guess I'm a lousy mind-reader because when I asked another co-worker 10 minutes later it turned out I hadn't read her mind correctly either and she's going hold a catalog show immediately and a cooking show this fall.Thanks so much for "reading" my little voice and challenging me with ways to overcome it!
